Who are the best golfers of all times? On April 10, 1916, the modern-day PGA TOUR was formed when some touring pros quit the Professional Golfers’ Association of America (PGA of America).

Following the departure of numerous members of this exact same club from the PGA of America, the modern-day PGA TOUR was created and proceeded to be the main franchise of golfing.

With the help of its volunteer network, the PGA TOUR uses the game of golf to have an unprecedented impact on local communities. Over $3.37 billion has been donated to local organizations by the PGA TOUR and its competitions.

Members of the PGA TOUR come from all around the world. There are 90 active international members from 28 non-American nations and territories in 2021–2022.

The PGA Tour admission procedure is highly demanding and challenging. Out of an estimated 80 million players worldwide, only the elite 175 plus exemptions are eligible for the PGA Tour.

But several great and recognizable golfers have graced our television screens and beautiful golf courses over the years due to their golfing expertise and skills.

With so many people participating in golf since it was created, when it comes to choosing the best, it’s not a straightforward question.

Choosing one golfer as the greatest of all time with such a rich and extensive history of excellent players would be very hard. Only a small number of the greatest and most successful golfers in history can be found in the top 3 golf players of all time.

Jack Nicklaus

Jack William Nicklaus, AKA “The Golden Bear,” is a retired professional golfer and golf course designer from the United States.

He is largely considered one of the best golfers of all time. In his professional career, he won 117 events—many debates on whos better than our first mentioned Woods.

Nicklaus is undeniable the greatest golfer of all time based solely on his number of victories. He has 73 PGA Tour victories, 10 Champions Tour titles, and 115 global victories.

Woods has 15 major victories to Nicklaus’s 18. Woods still has time to win another major, and some believe he can win many more, which leads to the debate of who is the greatest.

He still has time to win another game and break the 82-win tie with Sam Snead. However, Woods’ PGA Tour career is coming to an end.

Throughout his career, Nicklaus hammered massive 330-yard drives regularly. According to Golf Digest, the average driving distance has grown by 15.5 yards in the last ten years, during which metal drivers have been employed.

Tiger Woods

If you’ve ever heard of golf, it’s safe to say. You’ve heard of him: Tiger Woods, the one and only. Eldrick Tont “Tiger” Woods, born December 30, 1975, in California, is regarded as one of the greatest golfers of all time.

Tiger Woods began playing golf at a young age. His father was an amateur golfer who taught Tiger the game when he was just two years old. In reality, Tiger Woods matured swiftly between 16 and 17.

He developed so quickly that he had to modify his golf club size twice to accommodate his growth.

Tiger proceeded to dominate as he grew older and played outstandingly on some of the most significant greens of the world, holding 15 major titles.

Still, he has also been remarkably consistent in events he didn’t win throughout 16 years from 1997 to 2013.

He was the only player in the majors under par for their total score; he was nearly 250 strokes better than the next person since 1996.

Tiger has done some fantastic things with stats that will likely never be contested; he transformed the sport and helped shape it into what it is today, making him our top choice of today’s selections,

Woods has 15 major championship titles in his professional career, second only to Jack Nicklaus, who has 18. Woods also has 81 career PGA Tour victories, the second-most golf history. With 82 PGA Tour victories, Sam Snead owns the record.

Tiger also was EA sports PGA world tour gaming franchise mascot for EA Sports; Tiger Woods was the series’ headliner and face beginning in 1998. At the peak of his 15-year tenure at EA Sports, Woods’ contract was between $6.2 to $7 million each year.

Arnold Palmer

Arnold Daniel Palmer was an American-born pro golfer widely recognized as one of the sport’s best and most charismatic players. He has won multiple events on the PGA Tour and the PGA Tour Champions circuit since 1955.

Palmer’s career spanned six decades, winning 62 PGA Tour championships between 1955 and 1973. He is the fifth most successful player in Tour history, after only Sam Snead, Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus, and Ben Hogan.

Palmer won over 90 golf events and was the first person to earn a million dollars playing golf. It is recognized for popularising golf outside country clubs and bringing it into the public’s grasp.

Palmer’s followers, known as “Arnie’s Army,” accompanied him to weekly PGA Tour events.

The slam, which consists of winning all four majors in golf – the Masters, US Open, British Open, and PGA Championship — is one of the sport’s most prestigious achievements. It’s only been done five times, and some of the game’s finest, like Palmer, didn’t cut.

Another of Palmer’s iconic claims to fame is the commonly known cold beverage named after himself, The Arnold palmer. Fans not only went crazy for Palmer’s golfing skills but his favorite refreshment.

The Arnold Palmer drink is a famous refreshing beverage that blends iced tea and lemonade. Palmer was known to frequently order and drink this beverage, which is widely available in most bars today.

Conclusion

So, as we have found today, who is the greatest golfer of all time? That depends on what you consider to be the best. With Tiger Woods breaking certain world records and yet having time to shatter more, some consider him the greatest of all time.

We are confident that if you asked Woods who was the greatest of all time, he would disagree. We’re sure he’d say Jack Nicklaus is the greatest. Of course, this is just conjecture.

Palmer is also one of the most iconic and captivating golfing personalities ever lived, with some impressive stats proving his worth. We hope you enjoyed learning about three of the best golfers.
