CJ Cup at Summit History

The CJ Cup at Summit Club is the latest golf tournament the PGA Tour stops by. This PGA Championship is now held at The Summit Club located in The Las Vegas Valley, NV.

Did you know that this championship was originally to be included on the 2016-17 schedule?

Unfortunately, there were some legal issues that caused it to be postponed for a year. Don’t let this stop you from visiting the course and attending this prestigious event!

The previous appearance of The CJ Cup at Summit Club occurred in October of 2017, where Justin Thomas took down Paul Casey with an impressive 23-under score.

It was last seen back in 2012, where Jason Dufner took home the trophy with a score of four-under.

History of The Summit Club

The PGA Tour is very familiar with Las Vegas for hosting numerous events at various locations throughout the city – but now they have introduced this new club to join the rotation.

Other notable events held by this course include U.S Junior Amateur Championship and Wendy’s 3Tour Challenge among other women’s pro tours.

This spot also features multiple par-3 courses as well including Highland Falls, Pine Needles Lodge & Golf Club, and Torrey Pines North among others. The CJ Cup at The Summit Club is the newest addition to the PGA Tour, but certainly will not be the last!

Playing Golf at the Summit Club:

The Summit Club features two 18-hole courses. The East Course is the original of the two and was designed by Tom Fazio while the West Course was designed by Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw and opened for play in 2006.

Both courses offer stunning views of surrounding mountains and resort style amenities such as pools, villas, spa treatments, and dining facilities to ensure you have a relaxing trip!

Attendance for this championship has been growing every year since it’s inception in 2012. Every year there are thousands of people that visit to watch their favorite golfers take to the course and perform under pressure trying to earn one of those coveted spots on The Ryder Cup Team.

This tournament is completely free with no tickets required. All you have to do is show up early before gates open so you can get a good spot – because honestly, who would want to miss out on all of this?
