The course is a par 72 that measures 7,266 yards with 74 bunkers. It requires accuracy with most holes averaging around 350 yards.

The fairways are generous but require an accurate shot due to several native trees lining each side of them. There are 4 sets of tees ranging from 6,870 – 7,200 – 7,400 – 7,600 yards.

This ensures that every level of golfer will have an enjoyable time on this beautiful course with no long walks between holes or tee boxes.

Is the Mayakoba course beginner friendly?

This course is really friendly to beginners with 4 sets of tees ranging from 6,870 – 7,200 – 7,400 – 7,600 yards. This ensures that every level of golfer will have an enjoyable time on this beautiful course with no long walks between holes or tee boxes.

Is the Mayakoba course good for a handicap?

The most difficult hole on this course is the par 3 16th measuring 191 yards over water with bunkers guarding both sides of the green.

The easiest is clearly the first hole measuring only 163 yards and playing straight towards the sea where you can hit your tee shot directly into it if you are lucky!

What’s the toughest hole on the course?

The 16th is clearly the most difficult but if you are a beginner or play with someone who is, they will be more likely to struggle with the 5th measuring 447 yards.

This requires an accurate long iron shot between two ravines where missing your target leaves you no option but to punch up over them which makes putting extremely hard due to slopes around this green.

What’s the best par 3 on the course?

The view from this Par 3 is truly breathtaking! A strong straight shot towards this green will land you directly in front of it giving you time for an easy putt. This hole plays only 130 yards and always provides incredible views with tee shot.

Is there a signature hole on the course?

The 16th is undoubtedly this signature hole measuring 191 yards over water with bunkers guarding both sides of the green.

The view alone provides enough confidence to putt directly on it while trying to avoid dropping it in one of the many surrounding bunkers.

What are the views like from each tee box?

While you will always get a great view from every tee box but I would recommend starting your round on Hole 1 which is shorter and very straight towards sea providing an incredible view of Mayakoba resort area.

On this hole, you will feel like you can almost touch resorts located at beachfront! As for 18th hole, it’s along Riviera Maya coastline line covered by palm trees.

How good are the greens?

The greens are medium to fast and very undulated providing smoothness but also difficulty due to slopes around them which require precise putting.

What is the condition of the course during the World Wide Technology Championship at Mayakoba?

Sawgrass fairways provide excellent playing conditions throughout winter making it really enjoyable for all types of players! The rough is lush high with many native trees lining each side adding further challenge by obstructing your view on shots if you want to hold green in regulation.
